Policy Office News & Updates

About Us

The WCM Policy Office oversees the critical functions of policy review, management, and development. Our primary focus is to standardize WCM policies, enhancing readability, ensuring alignment with other applicable policies, and setting forth clear guidelines for compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Furthermore, we are dedicated to enhancing accessibility to WCM policies through centralization.  Our key stakeholders include institutional leadership, Offices and/or departments, Committees and policy owners.

Policy Office Launch

WCM launched its Policy Office in December 2023. The Policy Office is also leading an overhaul of all WCM policies by working closely with each department to standardize, review and update our policies.

Our Mission & Goals

Mission: Our mission is to serve as a pivotal resource for WCM by guiding policy management and development in alignment with Cornell University.
Goal 1: Centralize WCM policies. The Policy Office is working to create a Policy Library to house all current WCM policies and procedures that will be accessible to the WCM workforce, including other individuals who may be impacted by our policies.
Goal 2: Standardize the process for policy development and updates. Our objective is to ensure WCM policies provide clear and consistent guidance on compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while navigating WCM’s operational, clinical, research and academic needs.

Look Ahead:

In July, the Compliance and Privacy Office plans to seek final approval to publish a new policy on WCM’s policy management processes.
In the upcoming months, the Policy Office plans to publish a temporary Policy Library using Sharepoint where all CWID holders can access all WCM policies in one centralized location.
The Policy Office Intranet site is under construction. Until our site is published, all policy related materials, guidance and documents will be temporarily posted on the Compliance and Privacy Intranet site
